“Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them” (Ezekiel 38:7)
Purpose:
To ensure the safety, communication, and welfare of Ward members and neighbors during and after a disaster or emergency.
Core Objectives:
Account for all Ward members and neighbors quickly and accurately.
Coordinate local efforts for rescue, care, and communication.
Cooperate with Stake leaders, government authorities, and relief agencies.
Help Ward members become self-reliant before disasters occur.

I fear that too many of us are waiting to hear in General Conference on how, when and specific details regarding the troubling days ahead and our preparation for the second coming. But that is not likely going to happen. In fact, President Nelson has already given us much needed instruction on this topic, The question is have we been paying attention.
